HONOR Magic V6: This Foldable Phone Might Finally Be Built to Last

Foldable phones have come a long way, but durability is still one of the biggest questions surrounding them. The HONOR Magic V6 is taking that concern head-on, pairing its slim design with a reinforced hinge, water and dust resistance, a large battery, and flagship-level hardware.

HONOR Philippines has launched the Magic V6 locally, with pre-orders running from August 25 to September 4, 2026 for Php 119,999.

Thin enough to forget it’s a foldable

When folded, the Magic V6 measures just 8.75mm thick. Unfold it and the white version measures only 4.0mm. At around 219g, HONOR is aiming for a phone that feels closer to a regular smartphone than the chunky foldables many of us are used to.

But the interesting part is what HONOR has managed to squeeze into that slim body.

The phone uses the HONOR Super Steel Hinge, which has a tensile strength of 2800 MPa. An AI-assisted bionic cushioning system is also built into the hinge to help absorb impact and distribute force during everyday use.

The inner display uses UTG flexible glass, while the outer screen is protected by HONOR’s Anti-scratch NanoCrystal Shield. The silicon nitride coating has up to 5,600 layers and is designed to improve wear resistance while reducing reflections.

The Magic V6 is also certified with IP68 and IP69 ratings under IEC 60529 standards, giving it resistance against dust, water, and high-pressure sprays.

For something with a giant foldable screen, that’s reassuring.

Two screens, one very bright experience

The Magic V6 comes with a 6.52-inch outer display and a 7.95-inch inner foldable display.

Both screens support adaptive refresh rates of up to 120Hz. The outer display reaches a peak brightness of 6,000 nits, while the inner display can reach 5,000 nits.

HONOR has also added 4320Hz PWM dimming and an ultra-low reflectivity of 1.5%, which should help make the screens easier to view in bright surroundings.

So yes, you can unfold it for the big-screen experience, but you don’t necessarily have to every time you want to check a message or reply to something.

The battery is the real heavyweight

Here’s where the Magic V6 gets particularly interesting.

Inside that slim body is a 6,660mAh HONOR Silicon-carbon Battery, which HONOR says is the largest battery capacity ever used in a foldable smartphone.

The battery has around 25% silicon content and an energy density of 921Wh/L. The idea is simple: pack more power into a smaller space without turning the phone into a brick.

It supports 80W wired and 66W wireless HONOR SuperCharge, as well as wireless reverse charging.

The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 Mobile Platform, built on a 3nm process, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.

For gamers, HONOR says its Vulkan graphics engine can support up to 120 FPS in demanding mainstream games on the large inner screen.

The cameras aren’t an afterthought

The Magic V6 also comes with a three-camera setup under HONOR’s AI Falcon Camera System.

There’s a 50MP Ultra Light Sensitive Main Camera, a 64MP Ultra Sensing Periscope Telephoto Camera with a 1/2-inch sensor and CIPA 6.5-stop image stabilization, and a 50MP Ultra-Wide Camera.

The phone also brings a collection of AI-powered imaging features, including AI Color Engine, Magic Color 2.0, Magic Video Color, and AI Image to Video 2.0.

These are designed to handle things such as color optimization, image enhancement, video processing, and creative edits without requiring you to spend ages fiddling with settings.

Your phone can double as a mini workstation

One of the reasons people buy foldables is the extra screen real estate, and HONOR is putting it to work.

The Magic V6 runs on MagicOS 10 and includes HONOR AI Agents such as AI Settings Agent, AI Photos Agent, AI Suggestion, and AI Screen Suggestions.

There’s also Fast Flex, which activates a dual split-screen setup through a simple folding motion.

For people who use their phones for work, the PC-level Multi-Flex feature allows three apps to run simultaneously. HONOR says it can also handle files larger than 1GB while maintaining a PC-like experience.

And if you’re living in an Apple-heavy household, the Magic V6 isn’t completely leaving you out. HONOR Share lets the phone connect with iPhone, Mac, AirPods, and Apple Watch for functions such as file transfers, notification sharing, and dual-screen Mac workflows.

Quick Share is also supported for app-free file transfers between Android and compatible Apple devices.

And yes, there’s Google Gemini

The Magic V6 also comes with Google Gemini integration, allowing users to interact with the AI assistant through text, voice, or images.

With Gemini Live, users can share their camera or screen and ask questions about what they’re looking at. It can also help with schedules, to-do lists, and connected apps.

Buyers also get a three-month trial of Google AI Pro at no cost, which includes expanded access to Gemini and other AI tools, including Veo 3.1 for video generation, Nano Banana Pro for image generation, Flow, NotebookLM, and 5TB of cloud storage.

How much is the HONOR Magic V6?

The HONOR Magic V6 is available in Red, Gold, and White and is priced at Php 119,999.

Pre-orders run from August 25 to September 4, 2026 through HONOR Experience and Partner Stores and online.

Those who pre-order will also get a free HONOR Pad X8b worth Php 12,999 when they claim their Magic V6 on September 5.

Foldables are no longer just about having a phone that folds in half. We’re now at the point where manufacturers have to prove that these devices can actually keep up with everyday life.
