Hello Glow! Review: Suncare Gel and Rosewater Soothing Gel

Now that it’s hot, and still very much humid. I opted to use lighter formulated products such as the Hello Glow! Rosewater Gel and Hello Glow! Lightweight Sun-Care Gel that we’ll be reviewing today. The reason why I mentioned summer is that as seasons change, our skincare products should adapt too. Do these products live up to the hype? Let’s find out!

Hello Glow! Rosewater Gel Review

rose water soothing gel

⁣Did you know that one of our Rosewater Soothing Gel’s active ingredients is Hyaluronic Acid? It replenishes cell moisture and speeds wound healing or irritation with its ability to hold 1000 times, weight in water helping the skin appear firmer and plump.⁣

Review

Okay first up is the packaging. The product is enclosed in a large sachet with a plastic twist-off cap on top. With a hole big enough to squirt out enough product on your fingers. I use roughly an inch and it’s enough for my whole face and neck.

It’s in a transparent gel that smells so good! (if you like roses). It has that cool and refreshing feeling upon application and absorbs in a few minutes. I use this every morning as a “base” before sunblock. I’m having trouble with most sunscreen ingredients causing me to breakout. Then I learned from a friend this handy tip to apply a layer of viscous moisturizer before spf, and so far so good!

This soothing gel is indeed soothing as it helped diminish my redness around my nose and chin area.

What I love about this product is how light and non-sticky it is on the skin once it sets and dries! The content is also generous for the price! 135 PHP for 100ml? A surprisingly good discovery 🙂

Review

It comes in the same container as the Rosewater Soothing Gel, albeit enveloped in the color pink vs peach on the former. It also has 50g for 320 PHP. I already expected the price to be a notch higher because manufacturing a quality sunscreen does cost a lot.

I wished it had a nozzle versus the regular hole because I always, always squeeze out too much. So instead of wasting the product, I just apply on my arms first, then face, then neck. Take note. I apply generously. I’m happy to know that it doesn’t have any of the harmful sunscreen ingredients on the list that I researched a few weeks ago.

It’s lightweight, doesn’t irritate my eyes, and didn’t cause me to breakout yay! But it does have a tiny bit of white cast that I don’t mind. And I’m sorta questioning the SPF 50+ rating. They didn’t disclose if it has any UVA or UVB protection.

This might be good for indoor use but not really for going out in the sun.

Final Thoughts

These are excellent products from Hello Glow! I’m happy that there are more and more local brands producing budget-friendly skincare that doesn’t compromise on quality. I might repurchase the soothing gel, but hold back on the sun care gel because you know how I’m OC with sun protection. But while we’re in lockdown, and I’m not going out and about anyway, the 3-in-1 lightweight sun care gel is good enough in front of the computer screen.

Ciao bellas! 🙂
