Do I really need a fitness tracker? The thought always crosses my mind whenever I see an ad for another smartwatch of the sort. I mean, I don’t even wear a watch when working out! Hahaha.. well that was until I’ve personally tried the newest fitness tracker from Xiaomi, the Mi Band 6. You know how the classic song plays… “I didn’t know I was looking for love until I found you”. Same sentiments.
Xiaomi’s Mi Band series is one of the best-selling fitness trackers worldwide for a good reason – it offers a solid set of features, long battery life, at a budget-friendly price.
So today I’ll give you my honest to goodness review on the Mi Band 6 and why it’s the best fitness tracker for minimalists like myself.

Ok, first of all, let’s talk about the price. A Mi Band 6 only costs PHP1,990. But don’t let the price fool you. This baby packs a lotta punch!
The Mi Band 6 wears comfortably around my tiny wrists as it has several holes to adjust on. Just snap and go.
One of the reasons I wasn’t using any smartwatches in the past is that I hate complicated things. I hate reading manuals. I hate taxing setups. With the Mi Band 6, it’s plug and play! The magnetic charger snaps on to the back of the watch at ease, and fully charges in around 20 minutes. Speaking of battery life, a single charge also can last up to 14 days! Of course the more features you use, the faster the battery drains.
The controls are intuitive. Swipe up and down to scroll through the options. Tap to select. Swipe left or right to adjust.
Its 1.56″ display is stunning. Though I wished there were more neutral, classier colour selection in the band face themes. Enclosed in a matte, sleek, band. The text is large enough so I don’t have to squint, it’s never blurry or gives glare so it’s easy to look at my workout stats. I LOVE MY SPONGEBOB WATCHFACE!
Compared to the previous Mi Band I owned, this one has 30 types of fitness modes. Users can track their Zumba, HIIT, gymnastics, swimming, or even dancing.
My favourite of course is the Freestyle because of our situation right now, all I do is indoor bodyweight workouts to be safe. It tracks my heart rate, calories burned, and time spent! It also automatically syncs to the Mi Fitness App on my mobile device so I can see the history of my workouts 🙂
Stoked with how useful this smartwatch is, not just in tracking my workouts but also in keeping my heart rate and oxygen levels in check with its SpO2 measurement. So it also serves as an Oximeter, no need to get a separate one where you put your fingertip in.
It also has a built-in sleep tracking function that can monitor your REM, naps, and sleep quality. I have to be honest that I don’t track my sleep cycles because I get OC and frustrated when I don’t get quality sleep. It makes me obsess on sleep even further, resulting to, well insomnia.
Because it’s waterproof, I can wear this watch in the shower, swimming, or even snorkelling (oh gosh I miss the beach). The Mi Band 6 has become part of my daily accessories already! 🙂
