Never apologise for being yourself.

Monki encourages everyone to speak their minds, not be afraid to  challenge gender stereotypes and never apologise for being themselves.  That’s why Monki and Plan International have created four limited edition  sweaters including statements such as “If we don’t speak up, who will?”  and “My body isn’t political”. 20% of proceeds will go towards Plan  International’s #GirlsGetEqual campaign, demanding power, freedom  and representation for girls and young women globally.

“As a purpose-driven brand, Monki wants to empower women to empower  the world. Together with our partner, Plan International, and our strong  community, we are proud to continue the important dialogue of gender  equality this International Day of the Girl – and every day,” says Jennie  Dahlin Hanson, Managing Director at Monki.

Along with Plan International, Monki will share a series of tips from  collaborating creators across social media channels, to guide the  community on how to discuss the topic of gender equality. Monki’s key focus is to fast forward the United Nations Sustainability  Development Goal 5 for gender equality. While the UN says, “the global  gender gap will not close for another 100 years,” Monki says, “we won’t  wait!”

Monki will launch an empowering film posing the question: how will we  reach gender equality without showing up, standing up and speaking up  – together?

The sweaters will be available in store and online from October.
