Our trip to National Museum of Fine Arts Manila + Honolulu Cafe
With every year that pass by is another irrational fear that my son, nacho kid, and I won’t be able to do as much adventures as we did before. Ironically, now that he’s older, we’re able to do more things! Explore the country, the world, watch a wider assortment of movies!
A few rainy weeks ago, he grew tired of going to malls so I suggested that we go to a museum. We’ve been to one before, but that’s the Museum of Anthropology, this time around we visited National Museum of Fine Arts. It’s perfect – according to nacho kid – because he has recent interest in drawing and the arts.
30 years ago we had a field trip here and it wasn’t as clean, or kept well. It was a horror movie. I’m glad that isn’t the case today.

Â
The lines were surprisingly long for a weekend, which is a good thing. It’s so nice when more people appreciate the arts; especially the youth! Going out to escape the digital world, which I think was manipulating us to stay at home. Like a toxic relationship.
ADMISSION IS FREE
The painting below is a recreation of Amorsolo’s Spolarium. I do not know where the original i skept.

These are rough drafts and sketches framed, and look below they have a bidet!

They have a souvenir shop at the third floor.
The museum was cold and chilly. Better to bring a jacket. They also have a nice albeit expensive cafe at the fourth floor. Drinks are unique like this guava/pineapple/tea concoction, and biko coffee that I think tourists would like.Â
Manila is still a beautiful place. I appreciate that somehow, Yorme Isko is keeping it that way at least.
