Cocoon Boutique Hotel Review – An Eco-Friendly and Relaxing Staycation in Quezon City!
I’m sure you’ve stumbled upon this post looking for some peace and quiet in the heart of Quezon City. You’ve come to the right place! Today we’ll be reviewing Cocoon Boutique Hotel. It’s eco-friendly, relaxing, and have excellent amenities at a fair price.
It’s been almost 2 weeks since Taal’s initial burst of eruption (smoke and ashes). Macho kid and I are still evacuated here in Manila, staying in with our grandparents while his classes are still suspended. We can’t say we’re having it “rough” because we are still blessed to have a roof over our heads and a room to sleep in.
I promised him a weekend-staycation to help unwind, reset, and relax ourselves from this stress. So off I went to google to search for an affordable, but still classy hotel for us to stay-in.
Then I found the Cocoon Boutique Hotel. It’s got excellent reviews in Trip Advisor too. It’s even ranked #1 out of all hotels in QC! Wow.

Cocoon Boutique Hotel Review
The entire hotel, in general looks a bit grim and gloomy. I’d assume it’s because they’re going green and minimising use of electricity. Their interiors have an earthy vibe. Mostly with wooden furniture, antiques, and a grand piano. Very shabby chic.
Since it’s just the 2 of us, and I’m a cheapskate. I booked a Deluxe-room inclusive of breakfast and a buffet spread. It’s quite spacious, with a high-ceiling.
First thing that will greet your eye-sight is their mini-bar and mini-fridge. The food and drinks here are not free. But fairly priced. With snacks costing 90php and canned drinks at 150php.
They’re not the latest nor do they look “new”. But they’re still functional.
What we loved here the most was their bed! It was SO COMFY! Even the pillows and sheets smell so fresh and feel so soft. You can just lie down and relax all-day and you’ll feel instantly rest and refreshed. Not bad for 4k eh?
There are a couple of chairs too if you’ve got visitors. With some pre-historic issues of print magazines. Let’s admit it, print is dying.
I do, however appreciate that they had a widescreen, flat, smart-tv with NETFLIX and YOUTUBE pre-installed. Note that you still have to log-in you’re account to access netflix. (don’t forget to logout too!)
They’re toiletries claim to be eco-friendly. Made from recycled materials, even their toothbrush!
The hot-cold shower..
and macho kid’s favorite! A bath tub! It’s a tiny tub that can only fit 1 regular sized person.
Breakfast at Cocoon Boutique Hotel
Upon writing this, I forgot what this is called. But it had poached eggs, cheese, and mushrooms on top of warm bread. So good… When you pop the egg, the creamy yolk comes out mixes with the creamy cheese. It was seasoned nicely too. Ugh so good.
The sun dried fish as expected is salty. Make sure you dip it in vinegar for the best experience.
Macho kid of course, had pancakes (not in photo), cereals, and milk. They also had homemade breads, spreads, and a small salad and juice bar for everyone.
Final Thoughts
Our stay at The Cocoon Boutique Hotel was far from perfect. Our air-conditioner broke, with water dripping from it. I had to report to their receptionist right away to have it fixed. They’ve got good employees btw. They responded and fixed it immediately. Although it was a few minutes of hassle with the technicians coming in to resolve the issue. Not only that, they were apologetic too (although I wished they provided more for our hassle, like a discount, or free lunch or dinner or something)
For less than 4,000PHP that comes with a comfy room, a hearty breakfast, and a relaxing stay. It’s pretty worth it. We’d still come back if we want a quick break from the metro, in the metro.
