REVIEW: Hada Labo Premium Whitening Lotion (light)

I’m already on my third bottle of Hada Labo Premium Whitening Lotion (light), and it’s about time I review this unsung hero of mine! A staple in my skincare routine, I use it for a lot of purposes –  whether I switch to “exfoliating” mode or “rest” mode.

I first discovered this product from their launch a few years back, in pre-pandemic days. It’s one of the most famous, and bestselling Japanese skincare products and I couldn’t agree less. This magical liquid can soothe, plump, brighten, and tone your skin gently! It also boosts whatever skincare product you’re planning to use after.

Product Description

A light lotion that refreshes dehydrated, dull skin with brightening niacinamide, alpha-arbutin and Vitamin C for glowing, dewy skin.

Active Ingredients

Niacinamide, alpha-Arbutin and Vitamin C reawaken dull skin and even out skin tone for glowing, radiant skin.

Two types of Hyaluronic Acid provide intense, long-lasting hydration through every layer of skin

Effective antioxidant from grapes protects skin from damage and keeps it healthy

Now there are a lot of Hada Labo variants available, and the active ingredient common to all types Is Hyaluronic Acid. It’s a moisturising ingredient that can instantly penetrate our skin, without the “oiliness” of most moisturizers. The Premium Whitening Lotion (light) variant is to target dullness, dark spots, and uneven skin tone while brightening and hydrating our skin.

Trust me, I tried doing my regular skincare routine without Hada Labo and it just wasn’t “good enough”. There’s a certain inner glow that radiates when I use their lotion.

It comes in a HUUUUUGE bottle, and it lasts me around 8-12 months. Yup! It’s that sulit

The texture is similar to water, I believe the light variant is for people with more oily skin, and prefer a lighter texture. It absorbs pretty quickly too. Before I put on any other skincare product like retinol or acids or moisturizer, I make sure this dries first.

I just pour generously (char!) on my palm, and apply on my forehad, cheeks, chin, neck, and the rest of my face. I even put the excess on my knees and elbows kasi it helps keep them soft and bright (top tip alert!).

This is a product that I truly, and highly recommend. Definitely a must-have in anyone’s skincare collection.

I gave my lolo a bottle kasi it also worked for his millia and dark spots!
